Created in response to a design competition by Swedish publisher Bonnier, the String System introduced a lightweight, wall-mounted shelving solution that was easy to ship, simple to assemble, and adaptable to modern living. Built with slim metal side panels and interchangeable shelves, it quickly became a defining example of Scandinavian shelving design.
Today, the String System remains one of the most versatile modular shelving systems available. Designed for flexibility, it allows you to create fully customizable storage solutions using shelves, cabinets, drawers, desks, and accessories. The collection has since expanded to include solutions like String Pocket—compact shelving for smaller spaces—and the Works collection, designed for modern workspaces. The Museum shelf, developed in collaboration with Sweden’s National Museum by Studio TAF, reflects the brand’s continued focus on thoughtful, design-driven innovation.
